Waste services for industry

Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of this website and the guidance tools it provides. They explain the limits of the information published here and the basis on which enquiries are handled. Please read them before relying on any tool output or written guidance.

About these terms

Our business contact address is Suite 114b Business First, Davyfield Road, Blackburn, Lancashire BB1 2QY, and our phone number is 0333 533 0162. By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you use the site is the version that applies. Continued use after a change counts as acceptance of the updated terms.

Guidance and information on this site

The guides, articles and pages on this website are general information. They are written to help you understand common waste topics, but they are not tailored to your site, your materials or your legal position. Waste law and practice differ between England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and requirements can change. You should check current rules with the relevant regulator or take your own professional advice before acting.

Where we describe technical matters, such as how a settlement tank behaves or what a camera survey can show, we do so in general terms. A camera survey shows visible internal surfaces only. It cannot detect every defect and cannot see through deposits. Report contents and coding depend on the specification agreed for that survey. Not every survey is graded. Water company requirements must be confirmed before a survey is specified.

Tool outputs and their limits

This site includes guidance tools, including a sludge checker, a duty of care checker and a build-over checker. Each tool is a guide only. It is not a regulatory certification, a formal waste classification, a legal opinion or a substitute for advice from a competent person.

Each tool allows printing or saving to PDF through your browser and can prefill an enquiry. We do not provide PDF templates, live registers or a pricing database. Prices for any work require a real quote, and the drivers of that quote depend on the site, the material and the supplier.

Waste documentation and traceability

Waste documentation, including transfer notes and consignment notes, supports traceability. It does not by itself prove legal compliance. You remain responsible for your own duty of care and for keeping the records that apply to your waste.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse this website. That includes attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of it, interfering with its normal operation, scraping content at scale, or using the site in a way that breaks the law. You also agree not to rely on tool outputs as a formal classification or as legal advice.

Intellectual property

The text, layout and design of this website belong to us or are used with permission. You may read, print and share pages for your own internal business purposes. You may not copy large parts of the site, republish it or use it commercially without our written permission.

Liability

We take care to keep the information on this site accurate and current, but we cannot promise that it is complete, error-free or suitable for your particular circumstances. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on general guidance, tool outputs or information on this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Data protection and cookies

We use a cookie preference tool to record your choices. Google Analytics 4 loads only after analytics consent is accepted, and Meta Pixel loads only after targeting consent is accepted. Rejecting optional cookies prevents those scripts from loading. If you withdraw consent, the page reloads without them and their first-party cookies are cleared. The site’s chat service loads only when you click Chat with us. You can change your choices using Cookie settings in the footer. Our privacy and cookie information explains how enquiry and chat data is handled.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you use this site from elsewhere in the UK, local rules may also apply to your waste activities. The waste duty of care code of practice for England and Wales is published by Defra and the Environment Agency.
